Manchester City and Chelsea prepare for FA Cup semi-final

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has acknowledged the performance gap between his squad and Manchester City ahead of their FA Cup semi-final matchup. While describing Manchester City and Bayern Munich as the “benchmark” in European football, Tuchel stated that Chelsea intends to “hunt them” starting next season to close the competitive distance.

Manchester City currently holds a significant lead in the league standings, appearing poised to secure their third title in four years. Despite their success, statistical analysis of City's recent form shows a disparity between their actual results and underlying performance metrics, particularly regarding defensive expected goals (xG) and reliance on high-performing attacking output.
