Manchester City awaits verdict on 115 Premier League financial breaches
Manchester City is still awaiting a verdict on 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations covering the 2009‑2018 period. The case was heard at London's International Dispute Resolution Centre from September to December 2024, and the independent panel has yet to issue a ruling.
The club denies any wrongdoing. Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said he will speak once a decision is reached, while new manager Enzo Maresca said the pending outcome does not concern him. Observers have noted lead barrister Lord Pannick’s legal‑fee filings as a clue to the case’s progress.
Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who served legal notices in 2024, say they could claim compensation exceeding £100 million each if the verdict is adverse to City.
