Manchester City completes £116m signing of midfielder Elliot Anderson

Manchester City have paid a club‑record £116 million (about €135 million) to Nottingham Forest for 23‑year‑old English midfielder Elliot Anderson. The fee makes him one of the most expensive English players ever signed and reflects the club’s aim to reinforce a midfield that lost Bernardo Silva and faces uncertainty over Rodri’s future.

The transfer was confirmed after talks between the clubs and a medical in the United States. New manager Enzo Maresca described Anderson as a player capable of handling the physical demands of top‑level football and adding dynamism to City’s midfield. The signing is seen as a key piece in City’s plan to remain competitive in the Premier League and European competition following the end of the Pep Guardiola era.
