Manchester City completes record £150 million signing of Elliot Anderson

Manchester City have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest for the transfer of 23‑year‑old English midfielder Elliot Anderson. The deal is reported to be worth up to €152 million (£150 million), a new record for a British player in the Premier League and the highest fee ever paid by the club. Anderson, who has made 50 appearances for Forest this season with four goals and five assists, will undergo a medical in the United States before the move is formally completed.

The signing follows the departure of Pep Guardiola as City’s manager and is intended to bolster the midfield after the exit of Bernardo Silva. The transfer also surpasses the previous British‑player record set by Liverpool for Darwin Nunez and overtakes Arsenal’s spending on Declan Rice. City’s announced fee eclipses the earlier £146 million paid by Liverpool for Alexander Isak, making Anderson the most expensive British player of all time.
