Rodri joins FC Barcelona from Manchester City in major transfer

Spanish midfielder Rodri has arrived in Barcelona to finalize a high-profile transfer from Manchester City. After several rounds of negotiations, the clubs have reached an agreement for the 30-year-old 2024 Ballon d’Or winner and 2026 World Cup best player to join the Catalan side.

The transfer package is estimated to be worth approximately 76.5 million euros, consisting of a 60 million euro fixed fee plus up to 16.5 million euros in performance-based bonuses. Rodri is expected to sign a four-year contract running until June 2030. He has expressed that playing for FC Barcelona is a “dream” and aims to compete for the Champions League.

In response to Rodri's departure, Manchester City is actively looking for replacements. The club is reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign 18-year-old Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, with a potential transfer fee exceeding 100 million euros. City also maintains interest in Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez.
