Manchester City maintains unbeaten start to Premier League season

Manchester City has maintained a perfect start to the 2026-27 Premier League season, winning all four of its opening matches. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma praised manager Enzo Maresca for his attention to detail and ability to motivate the squad. Donnarumma specifically highlighted the team’s resilience during a recent derby victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford, where City secured a 1-0 win via an Erling Haaland goal despite playing with ten men for much of the match.

Defender Josko Gvardiol has also emerged as a key performer under Maresca, demonstrating strong defensive form at left-back. Following a summer contract extension, Gvardiol played a vital role in the clean sheet against Manchester United, winning nine of his eleven duels. His performances have solidified his position in the lineup, currently ahead of Rayan Aït-Nouri. City’s early season success follows a period of high performance, including a notable victory against AFC Bournemouth.
