Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal Target Newcastle Midfielder Sandro Tonali

Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali is drawing interest from several Premier League clubs ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window. Manchester City are reported to be in a tight race with Arsenal, while Manchester United have also been mentioned as potential suitors. Tonali, 26, finished the previous season with three goals and seven assists in 53 appearances and is regarded as one of the league’s top central midfielders. His contract with Newcastle runs until 2028, which could make a sale financially demanding.

Former Newcastle captain Rob Lee urged the club to clarify Tonali’s intentions, saying, "If players don't want to be at Newcastle… let's get the best possible deal for them now." He added that the club should not delay a sale if the player wishes to leave. Newcastle CEO David Hopkinson has acknowledged the need to sell players to fund new signings, noting that the club recently sold Anthony Gordon for £69.3 million to Barcelona. Tonali’s future remains uncertain as the club weighs potential offers against the desire to retain a key midfielder.
