Manchester City midfielder Nico Gonzalez pledges to stay

Spanish midfielder Nico Gonzalez, who joined Manchester City from FC Porto for a reported £50 million in February 2025, said he is happy at the club and has no intention of leaving. He highlighted his 41 appearances last season, including the winning goal in the FA Cup semi‑final, and expressed willingness to work for further trophies. Gonzalez added that even if he does not feature in every match, he would be delighted if the team wins the Champions League next season.

City’s management, including director of football Hugo Viana and chief executive Ferran Soriano, are currently on a pre‑season tour in South Korea and have indicated a measured transfer strategy. The club’s recent signings, such as Elliot Anderson, have already been integrated, while the squad remains young and competitive under manager Pep Guardiola.
