Manchester City negotiate compensation with Chelsea over Enzo Maresca appointment

Manchester City and Chelsea are in intensive negotiations concerning the possible hiring of Enzo Maresca as Pep Guardiola’s successor at City. Guardiola announced his departure on 22 May, and Maresca, the Italian coach who led Chelsea to a World Club Cup and a Europa Conference League title, is the frontrunner for the role.

Chelsea argue that they are entitled to compensation because Maresca had a contract with the club until 2029 when he left in January.
