Manchester City opens talks for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto

Manchester City have made a formal approach to Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano. The club’s interest is backed by former Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca, who worked with the Portuguese international at Chelsea and is said to understand his strengths.

Chelsea are believed to value Neto at around £70 million, well above the £54 million they paid for him. The deal depends on whether the clubs can agree on price, and City are likely to fund the purchase by offloading Brazilian winger Savinho if he moves to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham are also monitoring Neto as a backup option should their primary target Savinho leave Manchester City. Both Premier League rivals see Neto as a fast, pressing winger who could add depth to their attacks.
