Manchester City secures record £116m transfer for Elliot Anderson

Manchester City is on the verge of completing a club‑record £116 million signing of 23‑year‑old English midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. The fee, fully agreed with no performance‑related bonuses, would make Anderson the most expensive player ever purchased by the club and the second‑most costly in British football history.

Anderson is slated to undergo a medical examination in the United States – reported as New York by one source and Kansas City by another – before the deal is finalised. The transfer is expected to be wrapped up before England’s World Cup round‑of‑32 match. England manager Thomas Tuchel praised the midfielder, saying, "I think there's a very high chance the thing is sorted before the round of 32," and added that Anderson “plays like he owns the place.”
