Manchester City striker Antoine Semenyo faces eight-week injury layoff
Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca has confirmed that striker Antoine Semenyo will be sidelined for approximately eight weeks due to a collateral ligament injury. The injury occurred during the team's recent 3-2 victory against Ipswich Town.
Maresca noted that while the initial diagnosis was more concerning, an MRI scan provided some relief by showing the injury is less severe than first feared. Semenyo is expected to return to action around December. His absence is projected to impact at least 13 matches across multiple competitions, including the Premier League, Carabao Cup, and Champions League.
Additionally, the club is monitoring the fitness of Erling Haaland following his involvement in the recent match, though his availability remains uncertain pending further training sessions.
