Manchester City targets Borussia Dortmund winger Mathis Albert

Manchester City has renewed its interest in Borussia Dortmund's 17-year-old American winger, Mathis Albert. The Premier League club is reportedly positioning itself as a leading contender to sign the highly-rated prospect after a previous attempt to secure his services during the summer transfer window.

Albert, who joined Dortmund from the LA Galaxy academy in 2024, has gained significant attention for his rapid rise, including becoming the youngest United States player to debut in the Bundesliga. However, reports suggest the young attacker has faced limited playing time under manager Niko Kovac, leading to potential frustration regarding his development.

Manchester City is said to be prepared to meet a valuation of approximately €15-20 million to facilitate the move. While Dortmund has previously rebuffed approaches and loan inquiries, maintaining that Albert remains part of their senior plans, City's sustained monitoring and formal interest continue to pose a challenge to the Bundesliga club.
