Manchester City targets Chelsea defender Malo Gusto
Manchester City is reportedly considering a move for Chelsea fullback Malo Gusto during the upcoming January transfer window. While Chelsea previously maintained a £70 million asking price that deterred interest last summer, reports suggest this valuation has since dropped.
City is looking to bolster its right-back position following the departure of Kyle Walker, as the current squad lacks natural options in that role aside from Rico Lewis. The interest is reportedly supported by manager Enzo Maresca, who has previously worked with the 23-year-old Frenchman.
Despite the interest, Manchester City is expected to remain cautious regarding financial expenditures. Any formal negotiations will likely depend on whether Chelsea reduces its demands to a level that aligns with City’s economic strategy. Other potential targets for the club include Michael Kayode of Brentford and Jules Kounde of Barcelona.
