Manchester City Women secure third consecutive WSL win

Manchester City Women secured a 4-2 victory against Liverpool FC Women in their third Women's Super League (WSL) match, making them the only team to start the season with three consecutive wins. Lauren Hemp scored twice to lead the comeback after City had trailed 2-1 following goals from Liverpool's Alice Barrett and Viviane Endemann. Kadiye Shaw and Grace Clinton also contributed to the decisive result.

The match featured several Japanese internationals, including City's Yui Hasegawa and Araya Yamashita, facing Liverpool's Fuka Nagano.

Separately, Manchester City confirmed that Japanese defender Risa Shimizu has been absent from the start of the season due to a quadriceps injury sustained during the latter stages of pre-season. The club stated she is currently undergoing rehabilitation with the goal of an early return.
