Manchester City’s offer for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson turned down

Manchester City made its first official bid to sign 23‑year‑old England midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, but the Forest board rejected the proposal. Anderson, who has impressed for Forest this season and earned a place in England’s World Cup squad, has expressed a preference for a move to City rather than rival Manchester United.

The potential transfer fee is reported to be large enough to break the British record of £105 million set when Arsenal bought Declan Rice. Negotiations between the clubs continue, with City also looking to address a need at right‑back as they rebuild after the departure of captain Bernardo Silva.

Anderson is currently in North America preparing for the upcoming World Cup, but both clubs remain actively engaged in discussions over a possible deal.
