Manchester police rescue 86-year-old from sinking car
Two Manchester, New Jersey police officers, Sean Rembach and Don Miller, successfully rescued an 86-year-old man after his vehicle plunged into a pond at a local golf course early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. when the driver, attempting a K-turn, accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake. The driver became trapped in the sinking vehicle and was forced to climb onto the roof to seek help.
Officer Rembach entered the water to reach the man, while Officer Miller, who previously served as a lifeguard for ten years, utilized a rescue line to assist in the extraction. Both the driver and the officers emerged safe and uninjured, though the vehicle was totaled.
