Manchester pub manager raises funds for children's hospice via skydive

Martin Devlin, the general manager of the Fletcher Moss pub in Didsbury, Manchester, completed a 15,000-foot skydive to raise £4,568 for Francis House Children’s Hospice. Despite a personal fear of heights, Devlin participated in the jump over Lancaster to support the charity, which provides respite care and assistance to families of children with life-threatening or life-shortening conditions.

Devlin, who has managed the Hydes Brewery-owned establishment for 14 years, previously supported the hospice by abseiling down the Trafford Palazzo Tower. He described the skydive experience as ‘relaxing and enjoyable’ once the adrenaline took over, noting that he could see landmarks such as Blackpool Tower and the Lake District during the descent.
