Zmarzlik and Lambert target medals at Manchester Speedway GP

The Speedway Grand Prix returns to Manchester for two back‑to‑back rounds on Friday and Saturday. Defending world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, who leads the series, will try to claim his seventh individual title, while Polish rider Robert Lambert has said his sole aim this weekend is to win a medal.

Both riders acknowledge the pressure of the event, with Zmarzlik hoping to stay atop the standings and Lambert looking to improve on his sixth‑place overall rank. Injuries have removed several regulars, including Dan Bewley, Fredrik Lindgren and Dominik Kubera, opening opportunities for other contenders such as Australia’s Brady Kurtz, who will race on his home track for Belle Vue Aces.

Local fans are expected to cheer for home‑grown talent, notably Lambert, while the field also includes Kacper Woryna, Leon Madsen, Max Fricke and others vying for podium spots.
