Manchester United academy signs 15 scholars and confirms U21 head coach

Manchester United announced that 15 youth players have signed first‑year scholarship contracts with the club’s academy. The intake includes Kai Rooney, son of former record scorer Wayne Rooney, and Jacey Carrick, daughter of head coach Michael Carrick. The ceremony was attended by Michael Carrick, academy director Stephen Torpey, former defender Wes Brown and other club figures. Other sign‑ons mentioned include Gazimagamed Ibragimov and several additional youngsters.

The club is also close to confirming Adam Lawrence as the permanent manager of the Under‑21 side after serving as interim since January. Lawrence, a former Newcastle coach, led the U21s to the Premier League 2 play‑off final last season and is expected to have his appointment formalised soon.
