Manchester United advances new stadium plans and faces squad challenges

Manchester United is advancing plans for a new £2 billion, 100,000-seater stadium intended to replace the current Old Trafford. Following the takeover by INEOS, the club has prioritized the project, which Sir Jim Ratcliffe has described as a “Wembley of the North.” The club has reportedly selected Foster + Partners as the lead architects and has recently completed part of a public consultation process with local residents and community groups to address planning concerns.

On the pitch, the club faces challenges under head coach Michael Carrick. While players like Kobbie Mainoo and Senne Lammens have shown promise, there are growing concerns regarding the form of talisman Bruno Fernandes. Despite contributing goals and assists, his recent performance has been noted as a point of concern for the team's early-season momentum.
