Manchester United and Barcelona compete for Jorge Salinas

Manchester United and FC Barcelona are competing for the signature of 19-year-old Spanish youth international Jorge Salinas. The Racing Santander defender has become a priority target for Manchester United as they seek to strengthen their left-back position, particularly after Newcastle United declined to sell Lewis Hall.

Salinas is currently valued at a €16 million release clause. While Barcelona had previously expressed interest in a lower €8 million clause contingent on Racing Santander not being promoted to La Liga, the club's recent promotion has triggered the higher valuation. Racing Santander's sporting director, Chema Aragon, has stated that the club will not accept any offer below the contracted release clause.
