Manchester United secured a 2-1 victory over Swiss side Lausanne-Sport in a behind-closed-doors friendly match held at Carrington. The fixture was organized during the international break to provide match fitness and playing time for squad members not currently away on international duty.

The match marked a significant return for Matthijs de Ligt, who started the game as he continues his recovery following back surgery in May. Carlos Baleba also started the match, making his first appearance in a Manchester United shirt following his summer transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Other senior players, including Harry Maguire and Matheus Cunha, featured in the match, which also provided experience to academy talents such as Sekou Kone and Tyler Fredricson.
