Manchester United bids £80m for midfielder Sandro Tonali
Manchester United are reported to be preparing an offer of £70‑80 million for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali as part of an ongoing overhaul of their midfield after the free departure of Casemiro. The Italian international, 26, has made 110 Premier League appearances for Newcastle since arriving from AC Milan and is praised for his technical skill, work rate and tactical intelligence.
Arsenal and Manchester City have also been linked to Tonali, but United appear to have positioned themselves as the front‑runner, with Newcastle holding out for a fee closer to £100 million. The bid comes shortly after United reportedly completed the signing of goalkeeper Ederson from Atalanta and reflects their aim to rebuild the team’s engine room ahead of next season.
