Manchester United bolsters midfield with Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans

Manchester United have completed the signings of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, the latter for a reported £36 million fee. The acquisitions come after veteran Casemiro moved to Inter Miami and other midfield options suffered injuries, prompting manager Michael Carrick to reinforce the central area.

Both players featured in United's pre‑season friendlies. Santos started against Wrexham, Rosenborg and Atlético Madrid, partnering with Mason Mount and showing promise in possession and defensive work. Tielemans is expected to slot directly into the starting eleven, providing experience and depth as Carrick finalises his midfield plans for the upcoming season.
