Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada outlines clear summer transfer plan

Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada said the club will stick to a defined transfer strategy and avoid overspending this summer. After a £200 million spend on four signings – Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens – the team finished third in the Premier League and returned to the Champions League.

Berrada explained that the successful template from the previous window will be replicated, with a focus on a mix of experienced Premier League players and promising overseas talent. The club aims to bring in at least five new players, targeting Atalanta midfielder Ederson as the first signing, and also showing interest in Real Madrid’s Aurélien Tchouaméni, West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson and Newcastle left‑back Lewis Hall. Outgoing moves include loans for several squad members and permanent sales such as Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea and Antony to Real Betis.
