Manchester United draws with Leeds amid Bruno Fernandes transfer rumors

Manchester United played to a 1-1 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road during the seventh matchday of the Premier League. Bryan Mbeumo scored first to give the visitors the lead, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalized for Leeds following a corner sequence involving Anton Stach and Muharemović.

Statistically, Leeds controlled much of the match with 61.3% possession and twelve total shots. Manchester United recorded thirteen shots but struggled to regain the lead after the equalizer. Following the result, Leeds holds ten points while Manchester United has seven points after seven matches. Michael Carrick currently leads the team.

Off the pitch, reports indicate growing tension regarding Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. Amidst stalled contract extension talks and a reported breakdown in his relationship with the club, AC Milan is reportedly monitoring the Portuguese midfielder. Fernandes has previously criticized the club's focus on past glories, a sentiment that manager Michael Carrick has publicly disagreed with. Fernandes' current contract runs until June 2027, and a release clause of approximately €65m exists for foreign clubs.
