Manchester United eyes AS Roma midfielder Manu Koné

Manchester United are reported to be targeting 25‑year‑old French midfielder Manu Koné, who currently plays for Serie A club AS Roma. Roma are said to be waiting for a United approach, hoping a deal would free up funds to pursue replacements such as Sunderland’s Habib Diarra and Rangers’ Nicholas Raskin. The Italian side has placed a valuation of about £51 million on Koné.

United’s interest may involve a swap that includes English forward Marcus Rashford, whose loan spell at Barcelona has ended. Using Rashford in the deal could lower Roma’s asking price, while United also look to off‑load the striker permanently.
