Manchester United eyes Cristian Romero as €170 million lost on three free exits

Manchester United is reportedly preparing its first offer for Argentine centre‑back Cristian Romero, who currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur, according to Argentine journalist Gaston Edul.

The club has also confirmed that three players – left‑back Tajrel Malasija, midfielder Kazemiro and winger Jadon Sancho – will leave on free transfers after the club paid a total of €170.65 million in compensation. The departures follow earlier high‑cost signings, including Malasija’s €15 million fee, Kazemiro’s €70.65 million purchase, and Sancho’s €85 million transfer, highlighting a significant financial hit for the English side as it returns to the Champions League and seeks further squad reinforcement.
