Manchester United eyes Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as top midfield target

Manchester United have already secured midfield signings of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos and are now searching for a third midfielder. Journalist Ben Jacobs says the club’s leading target is Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni, although the French midfielder has reportedly agreed verbally to extend his contract in Spain. Other names linked to United include Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, Roma’s Manu Kone, Botafogo’s Danilo and a failed pursuit of Atalanta’s Ederson due to medical concerns. The signings aim to replace departing Brazilian anchor Casemiro, whose contract will not be extended, and to strengthen a midfield reshaped under sporting director Michael Carrick.

The pursuit reflects United’s intent to bolster the squad ahead of the new season, with the Tchouameni option seen as the most promising despite Real Madrid’s reluctance to sell.
