Manchester United faces relegation threat after Chelsea defeat

Manchester United has extended its winless streak to nine matches across all competitions following a 2-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The defeat leaves the club in 16th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.

Despite a competitive first half where Matheus Cunha had a goal disallowed by VAR, the match turned in the second half. Morgan Rogers scored for Chelsea in the 50th minute, and the situation worsened when Lisandro Martinez received two yellow cards in quick succession, resulting in a red card and a penalty. Cole Palmer converted the penalty to secure the win for Chelsea.

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has expressed his intention to remain in his position and lead the team in their upcoming Champions League match against Roma. However, his future remains under intense scrutiny as the club faces its worst form since 1988.
