Manchester United manager Michael Carrick faces pressure amid replacement rumors

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick is facing increasing pressure following a difficult start to the season. After a successful stint as interim coach last term that secured a Champions League spot, the club has struggled in the current campaign, sitting 12th in the Premier League with only one win in five matches and an early exit from the League Cup.

Speculation regarding a managerial change is growing, with former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte being linked to the role. Conte has hinted at an interest in returning to a club with a rich history of trophies. Other potential candidates mentioned include Julian Nagelsmann, Fabian Hurzeler, and Eddie Howe.

Despite the poor results, reports suggest the club currently maintains confidence in Carrick, noting that the playing squad appears to be fully behind him. To alleviate attacking depth issues, some observers, including Rio Ferdinand, have suggested the club consider signing free agent Karim Benzema to provide veteran experience to the forward line.
