Manchester United faces scrutiny following loss to Chelsea

Manchester United extended a winless streak to nine matches across all competitions following a defeat to Chelsea. The match was marked by a poor performance from Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez, who received a red card for striking Wesley Fofana, resulting in a penalty converted by Cole Palmer.

Former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expressed support for current interim manager Michael Carrick, noting that he had previously recommended Carrick for the role during discussions with club officials. Despite the recent struggles on the pitch, Solskjaer believes Carrick understands what is required to turn the team's performance around.
