Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek seeks transfer after pre‑season appearance
Manchester United’s 22‑year‑old Czech goalkeeper Radek Vitek confirmed he wants to leave Old Trafford in order to become a regular first‑team player. Vitek, who has not yet made a competitive appearance for United, played the second half of the club’s 1‑0 pre‑season friendly defeat to Wrexham and said he feels "great and ready to go again".
He acknowledged that senior keeper Senne Lammens is currently the first‑choice goalkeeper and that recent signings, including Karl Darlow and Tom Heaton’s contract extension, limit his chances. Vitek said he is open to either a loan or a permanent move, noting interest from Hull City and Ipswich Town.
Vitek, who arrived at United in 2020 after spells on loan at Accrington Stanley, Bristol City and Austria’s FC Blau‑Weiß Linz, expressed a desire to play every week in the 2026‑27 season.
