Manchester United have confirmed genuine interest in signing Newcastle United’s 21‑year‑old left‑back Lewis Hall. Reports indicate the club is in “active talks” with Hall’s representatives and view him as a priority target to bolster competition for the left‑back position alongside Luke Shaw.

Hall is said to be eager for a move to Old Trafford for two main reasons: the chance to develop further at a club that regularly competes in the Champions League and his frustration after being deployed out of position by Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, which he believes contributed to his omission from England’s World Cup squad.
