Manchester United keeps Mason Mount amid transfer offers
Manchester United have turned down enquiries from six clubs – Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Fulham, Inter Milan, Napoli and RB Leipzig – for midfielder Mason Mount. Manager Michael Carrick said the 27‑year‑old will remain at Old Trafford for the 2026/27 season. Mount, who arrived from Chelsea in the summer of 2023 for a reported £60 million, has a contract until 2028 with an option for an extra year.
In pre‑season, Mount has been a standout performer, featuring in wins over Wrexham, Rosenborg and Atletico Madrid. Despite his form, Carrick highlighted the squad’s depth, noting competition from Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo. The club may still consider signing a third midfielder, but any new arrival could limit Mount’s playing time, and Carrick remains a strong supporter of keeping him in the first‑team plans.
