Manchester United lead talks for Leipzig centre‑back Castello Lukeba while scouting other targets

Manchester United are reported to be in "concrete talks" with RB Leipzig about centre‑back Castello Lukeba, whose release clause is set between £69 million and £77 million. Leipzig have indicated willingness to sell for a package of roughly £52‑£56 million, putting United in pole position ahead of interest from Barcelona.

The club have also confirmed there is no current interest in Tottenham captain Cristian Romero, citing financial and squad considerations. United already have several defensive options and view a high‑fee move for Romero as unlikely.

In midfield, United have secured Atalanta midfielder Ederson and are eyeing Lazio’s 25‑year‑old Fisayo Dele‑Bashiru, a former Manchester City academy product, as an additional recruit. The Nigerian international is reportedly open to a Premier League move, with two years left on his contract in Serie A.
