Manchester United leads race for Como winger Assane Diao

Manchester United is reportedly leading the pursuit of 21-year-old Senegalese winger Assane Diao, who currently plays for the Italian club Como. Scouts from the English club have observed Diao in person during Serie A matches against Genoa, Parma, and Frosinone.

Diao, who joined Como from Real Betis in January 2025, has seen a significant rise in value due to his performance under manager Cesc Fàbregas. While his market valuation is estimated at approximately 35 million euros, Como is reportedly unwilling to accept any offer below 50 to 55 million euros, as the player is under contract until June 2029.

Competition for the attacker is high, with several Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Everton, and Brentford showing interest. Within Serie A, Roma and Atalanta are also monitoring the player's progress.
