Manchester United loans goalkeeper André Onana to Trabzonspor for a second season

Manchester United announced that goalkeeper André Onana will spend the 2026‑27 season on loan at Turkish club Trabzonspor, marking a second consecutive loan spell. The Cameroonian international made 33 appearances for Trabzonspor last season, contributing to a third‑place league finish and a Turkish Cup win.

Onana, who joined United from Inter Milan in 2023 for €50.2 million on a contract running to summer 2028, remains the club’s third‑choice keeper after Senne Lammens secured the starting role. United will not receive a transfer fee for the £43 million signing, but Trabzonspor will cover his full wages and has paid a loan fee – reported around €1.5 million in one account, while another source described the amount as undisclosed. The loan agreement contains no purchase option.

United’s statement wished Onana “the best of luck for the campaign ahead,” underscoring that the club is unlikely to recall him before his contract expires.
