Manchester United considers late transfer moves as Louis Page deal fails

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has indicated the club remains open to further signings before the summer transfer window closes. Following a 5-2 victory over Ipswich Town, Carrick expressed satisfaction with the squad's recent midfield reinforcements—Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba—but noted that the club would not “shut down” the possibility of additional business, particularly in the fullback position.

However, reports indicate that a highly anticipated deal for Leicester City midfielder Louis Page has fallen through. Despite earlier reports that negotiations had progressed quickly and that a fee exceeding £8 million to £12.5 million was being discussed, insiders state that an agreement could not be reached between the two clubs.

Former player Wayne Rooney has urged the club's leadership to continue pushing for reinforcements, warning that failing to address defensive vulnerabilities and squad depth could have long-term consequences for the season.
