Manchester United manager Michael Carrick praises summer signings

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has expressed satisfaction with the club’s squad improvements following the summer transfer window. Despite facing challenges during the period, Carrick believes the team has emerged stronger, particularly in the midfield.

The club invested approximately £155 million to strengthen the center of the pitch, bringing in Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba. Carrick noted that while the club may not have matched the spending of all Premier League rivals, they successfully maximized their resources to add both individual and collective quality.

While the manager praised the new arrivals, he acknowledged ongoing depth issues in other areas, specifically noting the lack of experienced options at left-back. Following a 2-0 loss to Hull City in their season opener, the team rebounded with a 5-2 victory against Ipswich Town, highlighted by a hat-trick from Bruno Fernandes.
