Manchester United name Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as dream summer target

Manchester United have identified Real Madrid defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as their "dream" signing for the upcoming summer transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The club is preparing to revamp its midfield after securing a Champions League place and anticipating the exits of Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and possibly Marcus Rashford.

United are also in advanced talks for several other midfield options. Atalanta’s Ederson has reportedly agreed personal terms and is "giving priority" to Manchester United, while the club have also listed Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba as potential targets. Owners INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have earmarked budget for at least two midfielders, a left‑back and a left‑winger, supported by extra funds from Champions League qualification and wage savings.

Real Madrid have indicated that Tchouameni, who is under a high‑salary contract until 2028, is unlikely to be released, making the proposed deal extremely difficult.
