Manchester United players clash over cause of Champions League defeat

Manchester United players have offered conflicting explanations for the club's recent 4-1 Champions League loss to Como. Following the heavy defeat, midfielder Youri Tielemans attributed the poor performance to a lack of effort from the squad, stating that the team was “poor at everything” and failed to respond effectively after halftime.

These comments contrast with previous statements from captain Bruno Fernandes, who criticized the tactical decisions made by head coach Michael Carrick. While Fernandes suggested the team's passivity was a result of coaching instructions, Tielemans emphasized that tactical proficiency cannot compensate for a lack of physical effort on the pitch.

The internal disagreement comes amid mounting pressure on Carrick, whose position is under scrutiny as the team's form continues to decline.
