Manchester United target Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall, consider Jorge Salinas

Manchester United have identified Newcastle United’s 21‑year‑old left‑back Lewis Hall as their top priority for the upcoming transfer window. The club’s hierarchy, including head coach Michael Carrick, have given internal approval for a bid estimated between £50 million and £70 million, a fee that would make Hall one of the most expensive left‑back signings in Premier League history. Newcastle have signalled they are unwilling to sell, with the player under contract until 2029 and the club demanding more than £60 million.

As a contingency, United are monitoring 19‑year‑old Spanish defender Jorge Salinas of Racing Santander. Salinas carries a €16 million (£13.7 million) release clause that United are prepared to meet, although Barcelona are also interested in the youngster. The Red Devils have already reinforced other areas of the squad, signing midfielders Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, but the left‑back position remains a clear structural gap ahead of the new season.
