Manchester United manager Michael Carrick faces pressure amid poor start

Manchester United is facing intense scrutiny following its worst Premier League start in 40 years, having secured only six points from its first six matches. The club's recent 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur, where a late equalizer by Dominic Solanke nullified a lead from Bryan Mbeumo, has heightened pressure on manager Michael Carrick.

While reports indicate that club co-owner INEOS currently maintains confidence in Carrick, the club is reportedly exploring potential replacements. Antonio Conte has been heavily linked to the role, with some reports suggesting discussions are underway. Other potential candidates mentioned include Cesc Fàbregas.

Carrick has acknowledged the difficult period, stating that such challenges are part of a long-term process. However, the team faces significant hurdles, including injury absences to key players Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw, ahead of a crucial Champions League fixture against Atletico Madrid.
