Manchester United remains open to late summer transfer signings

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has indicated that the club remains open to further signings before the summer transfer window closes. Following a 5–2 victory over Ipswich, Carrick stated he “wouldn’t shut down” the possibility of additional business if the right opportunities arise.

The club has primarily focused its summer spending on the midfield, completing deals for Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos, and Carlos Baleba, while adding Karl Darlow as goalkeeping cover. Current priorities for the squad include strengthening the left-back position and potentially adding a striker, depending on the future of Joshua Zirkzee.

In the goalkeeping department, Senne Lammens has established himself as a mainstay in the squad following the club's previous struggles in the position. This follows a period of transition after the departure of David de Gea and the underwhelming tenure of Andre Onana, who recently moved to Trabzonspor.
