Manchester United pursue Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni
Manchester United have renewed enquiries for Real Madrid defensive midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni as part of their summer midfield rebuild. The club’s hierarchy, led by Michael Carrick, have signalled that they remain undeterred by reports the Frenchman has signed a new contract extension with Los Blancos.
United have already added Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, but still lack a specialist holding midfielder after Casemiro’s departure. Reports cite a willingness to spend a fee in the region of £80 million, though no formal offer has been tabled and Tchouaméni’s contract runs to 2028 with a possible extension to 2031.
Samuel Luckhurst quoted: “Manchester United have enquired about Aurelien Tchouameni. United not deterred by reports he has agreed a new extension at Real Madrid and there hasn’t been a formal announcement yet.” The pursuit continues alongside other targets as United aim to solidify their midfield for the upcoming season.
