Manchester United seeks left-back reinforcement before transfer deadline

Manchester United is actively seeking a new left-back before the summer transfer deadline. Following significant spending on midfield reinforcements, INEOS is now focused on bolstering the defensive line for manager Michael Carrick.

Reports indicate that while the club considered Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde, a deal involving agent Jorge Mendes was deemed too expensive in terms of both transfer fees and salary. Instead, the club appears to be targeting an experienced player who can provide reliable competition and coverage, similar to the previous signing of Sergio Reguilón.

Potential targets include Brest defender Bradley Locko, who is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League, as well as other options such as David Raum or Jorge Salinas. The club aims to secure a solution that offers an international profile without the prohibitive costs of a superstar signing.
