Manchester United sells out Old Trafford pitch turf cubes

Manchester United has sold out its initial stock of preserved Old Trafford pitch cubes. The memorabilia consists of 7cm by 7cm pieces of turf from the stadium's previous playing surface, sealed inside clear acrylic cubes and presented in black boxes.

The turf was made available following a major pitch overhaul in June, which marked the first time the surface had been stripped back to its foundations in 14 years. The project, led by groundskeeper Tony Sinclair, aimed to improve player safety and water drainage. Rather than discarding the old surface, the club's staff preserved sections to create the collector's items.

Each cube is priced at £125. While the first batch sold out quickly following exclusive access for members and season-ticket holders, the product has drawn mixed reactions from fans. Some supporters expressed enthusiasm for the keepsake, while others criticized the high price point for the size of the item.
