Manchester United complete Ederson signing from Atalanta under Carrick

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Serie A club Atalanta to sign Brazilian midfielder Ederson for a reported £35 million (approximately €45 million) plus add‑on payments. The 26‑year‑old will join United on a four‑year contract with an option for a further year, pending a medical exam scheduled for early July.

The transfer marks the first signing since Michael Carrick was appointed permanent head coach, and it addresses a midfield gap left by the departure of veteran Casemiro. Ederson, who has made 180 appearances for Atalanta and scored 16 goals, was named in Brazil’s expanded World Cup squad but did not make the final roster.

United are also linked with additional midfield targets, including West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, and a left‑sided player such as Newcastle’s Lewis Hall, as part of a broader summer rebuilding plan.
